WIL WELDON

a Storyteller Through Film & Journalism

Wil Weldon is a video journalist, a producer, an author, a director, an interviewer, a project organizer, and a skilled communicator. He finds the true story and tells it as clearly as possible. Underlying all his work is a conviction to improve the world, one story at a time.

“I’ve always considered myself a writer and have been making films and videos of many stripes since the late ’80s.” Wil grew up in a small town in NC, graduated from Duke University with a degree in English, certificate in Film & Video, and earned a Master’s in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Since 2007, he has been operated Growler Visual Media. Having completed four feature-length documentaries about his “through-hike” of the entire Appalachian Trail in 2001, his brother’s conversion to (non-fundamentalist, Sufi) Islam, author Reynolds Price’s 50-plus-year career as a teacher, and “Rarefied,” about families with rare genetic diseases.. He has a dog, no kids, very little debt, and a strong disdain for the Western status quo. Cycling, running, swimming, hiking, and many other outdoor activities help to keep him fit and sane.

KEVIN SEIFERT

a Storyteller Through Photo Journalism

For more than two decades, Kevin has helped organizations communicate with clarity through video. His experience spans higher education, healthcare, research, nonprofit organizations, corporations, and live events where there are no second takes and every moment matters. Whether directing a multi-camera livestream, producing a brand story, or documenting a leadership event, he approaches each production with the mindset of a journalist: understand the audience, anticipate meaningful moments, and capture genuine human connection.

Kevin believes that the best videos don’t manufacture emotion. They reveal it. His collaborative production style allows clients and subjects to feel comfortable on camera, resulting in authentic performances and natural conversations that resonate with viewers. Technical excellence is essential, but Kevin believes trust, preparation, and listening are what transform a well-produced video into a story that people remember.

As co-founder of Blue Lane, Kevin combines strategic thinking with decades of production experience to help organizations tell stories that educate, inspire, and build lasting relationships. His commitment to professionalism, ethical storytelling, and reliable execution has made him a trusted production partner for universities, corporations, healthcare systems, and mission-driven organizations throughout the Southeast.
